Artist Statement
Our lives are filled with images of cookie-cutter beautiful faces, yet everyone has a blemish which I exaggerate and bring these imperfections to the forefront in a humorous manner. The distinctive features of a face, the way a tooth leans or how skin bends around the mouth can have profound effects and emit the entire feeling of the person's expression. Exposing viewers to these differences allows us to enjoy the unique qualities that every imperfection creates, and hopefully discover our own face is perfect.

Artist Biography
Nathan was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended The Art Institute of Colorado, Denver, and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Visual Communication. Over the last 16 years Nathan has worked as a graphic designer and has won numerous awards for his commercial art. The influences of clean and simple layouts of studio portraits are present in his fine art. Nathan lives in San Francisco.
